Fun Thursdays with Temple School

For these last sessions, we have been teaching English to the children of Temple School. We taught them the letters of the alphabet with colouring booklets. We also played many fun interacting games with colours and images and we spent one Thursday reading books to them in the library. Singing songs such as “The Wheels on the Bus” and “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” were as well part of our sessions. Hearing their tiny enthusiast voices say English words made me very happy. Every week, I could see an improvement from each kid. These improvements demonstrate that the members of our service group have a strong bond with the kids. The Temple School children always have a smile when they come to OSC every Thursday. When the kids have fun, my peers and I are as well able to enjoy our service sessions.

For the next following weeks until the end of the semester, we are organizing a toy and stationary drive, and we are planning a small Christmas party before everyone leaves for the December break.
